Summer Office Hours
The students are at the pool, reading books, riding bikes, and enjoying some family time. Here at Midvalley, our custodial crews are cleaning the school and getting ready for a new school year in August. Please be aware that our office staff is also on vacation this summer and will return the first part of August. Please check back for summer hours and times for school registration.
Please let your neighbors with five-year-old children know that we will continue registration for kindergarteners at the beginning of August. We welcome our newest Husky pups!
Breakfast and Lunch Summer Program
We are a breakfast and lunch site for the summer. If you have or know of a school-aged student in need of breakfast and lunch this summer, simply text FOOD to 877877 and receive a message back to the closest place where they can get FREE summer meals. Families can also call the Hunger Hotline at 1.866.348.6479 for immediate assistance. It may not be your child in need, but as school comes to an end, unfortunately, many children go hungry. We can help.
Congratulations to Mr. Sheely!
Our very own Mr. Sheely is the Canyons School District custodian of the month for November. We really appreciate all he does to keep our school safe and clean.
School Community Council
Thanks to our 2016-17 school community council members Mike Divrician, Karen Henriquez, Kane Ventura-Smith, Zach Zabriskie Becca Staker, Vickie Houmand & Laurie Moray. Check out our school web page for more information about what they do and how you can get involved. HERE
School Safety - Back Parking Lot
Because safety is our number one concern, the school safety committee is taking steps to secure our back parking lot on the west side of the school. As many of you have noticed, a sign at the gate proclaims, “Authorized Vehicles Only.” Authorized vehicles are limited to district employees and delivery drivers. Parents and others are not authorized to drive or park beyond the red gates.
We are concerned that students and property are at risk. Employees have witnessed automobiles speeding through this bottlenecked area while other drop off children all along the west side of the school. Recently, a hit-and-run driver damaged a teacher’s car. Delivery drivers have alerted us on several occasions that they are unable to drop off deliveries due to numerous cars parking along both sides of the driveway.
For these reasons, we are taking measures to enforce this long-standing policy. Beginning shortly, you will see cones blocking off the area beyond the red gate. We ask that all parents and patrons honor this policy and park in other designated areas. Thank you for your cooperation!
