WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) - Engage men, inspire children, reduce bullying and enhance the educational environment at your school.
WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) - Is the father involvement initiative of the National Center for Fathering that organizes fathers and father figures in order to provide positive male role models for the students and to enhance school security. Today, more than 2,811 active programs in 46 states participate in the WATCH D.O.G.S. Program.
Who are WatchDOGS? Fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer to serve at least one day a year in a variety of school activities as assigned by our PTA coordinator.
When you volunteer to be a Watch DOGS Dad you will have an opportunity to spend a whole day, half day, or whatever works for you in your child's classroom. You wiil get to participate in recess and join your child for lunch. You will be an example to all the children and a positive male role model that many kids don't have in thier own lives. Most of all you will have a great time and create life-long memories for you and your child. It will be a big deal to your son or daughter to have you spend time with them at school.
Please take a minute to watch this short video with Matt Lauer of NBCs Today Show. It will give you a great idea of the kind of fulfilment being a Watch DOGS dad will bring to you and the difference you will make in the life our your child and countless other children. Today Show Video
