Agenda Items
- Review winter Acadience data – Growth scores are higher than we have ever had.
- Review The School Report Cards and School Improvement Designations – Excited to see growth–especially in science. To see Midvalley’s student report card – go to https://reportcard.schools.utah.gov/School/OverAllPerformance?SchoolID=685&DistrictID=186056&SchoolNbr=144&SchoolLevel=K8&IsSplitSchool=0&schoolyearendyear=2025.
- Plans – Finalize TSSP – Midvalley SCC reviewed instructional target, goals, action items, and expenditures. SCC suggested that we add to our Action Plan to further develop our SBI time to help teachers create meaningful work for students who are at or above benchmark. It is preferred that students aren’t completing packets or doing chromebook work–rather something more meaningful like book studies. Our plan was approved with a 6/6 vote. Margaret also reviewed Title budget and plan to spend funds on math, reading, and behavior aides.
- Review – Final Plan – Margaret reviewed Midvalley’s Final Plan. To view Midvalley’s Land Trust plans go to – https://schoollandtrust.schools.utah.gov/publicschooldashboard?schoolDistrict=186056&schoolId=685&schoolNumber=144

- February safety drill report and budgets – discussion about drills last month. There was a glitch in the system which lead to multiple drills happening including one during dismissal. It was a user error due to us not clearing the drill from the phone.

- Discussion regarding wondering what is the procedure for if federal agents were to come to Midvalley to ask for a student.
- Margaret shared –
- Anytime adults — including officials from local, state, and federal investigating agencies (including U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) — request access to a child at school, Canyons District will continue to follow these steps:
1. If the adult is not a parent/guardian or an emergency contact who is authorized to pick up the child from school when a parent/guardian can’t be reached, school staff will notify principals.
2. Principals will ask for identification and any relevant legal documentation (subpoena, search warrant, administrative warrant, or arrest warrant).
Principals are to immediately contact Canyons District’s Office of Legal Services. Should they not be able to reach legal, they call their Director. If they cannot reach their Director, then they reach out to our Superintendent.
