- RISE and Acadience Data
- Everyone is very excited to see the growth in our RISE scores. RISE highlights include growth from 4th grade cohort to 5th grade cohort in ELA, math, and science. School average in science moved up 3% from last year. Acadience data is the highest it has been in years! There is a lot to celebrate. SCC discussed impact of TSSP, Land Trust, and Title I funds used towards students’ achievement. The majority of our funds go towards aides and an additional social worker which has help meet our students’ academic and behavior skills.

- Attendance continues to be a concern at Midvalley. Next year, Midvalley will be joining a state cohort who work together to share ideas and practices to improve attendance. Ms. Crystal and Principal Jones have joined the state cohort and will lead the Midvalley attendance committee.
- Input on Family Events (Hot Dog Hello, Daring Dads, Moms Matter, STEM, Reading, Art, Math, paperwork support, attendance, etc)
- Concern about am events and impact on parking lot
- SCC discussed our events. Ideas shared were keeping both am and pm events to accommodate families’ schedules, having the kids leaving earlier in morning events so that parents/guardians can focus on discussion topic while networking, bring in more academic focus vs parenting strategies in the morning events, love the Harry Potter event, love the rotation format at evening events, love the STEM night with science fair projects on display, support providing dinner at the PTA cultural night, and have small group discussions (topics could include ADHD, allergies, attendance challenges). Crystal shared that morning events have around 80 – 161 people attend.
- Community Garden Proposal
- SCC supports having a community garden at Midvalley. They have a great proposal to start small and build upon success. It will be optional for teachers to participate. Ms. Nicole and Teacher Ash will lead the committee.
- Complete Follow Up on Safety Plan
- SCC discussed the parking lot as it in the number 1 concern in our Safety Plan. The school has done the tasks suggested by SCC. We are at a point where some families choose to not follow expectations. The school does their best to identify who the families are and work directly with them. Our SRO will also will reach out to parents/guardians to better explain safety procedures.
