Reading Progress Goal
We couldn’t wait to share with you that our hard work has paid off as a school—even in a pandemic! Our school has met its Land Trust and TSSP reading multi-year goal and we couldn’t be prouder. The students and staff have been knocking it out of the park. Please see your own student’s progress report and report card coming home next week to see how they did this year. Reading this summer will continue to strengthen their reading. If they are below grade level, your child’s teacher will include ideas to help them continue to learn over the weeks ahead.
Field Day Monday
The PTA has planned a fun-filled Field Day on Monday for the students in first through fifth grade. (Kindergartens last day is today.) A Skylert was sent this week for details if you can help.
Last Day Info
Please remember that the last day is early out and plan accordingly for your family. We will also be holding an open house, self-guided tour of the new school building that afternoon. Please see earlier Skylerts for full details. You are invited by alphabet to minimize parking challenges and congestion in the building. Hope to see you there.

Home Reading Drawing
The students who have participated have loved the gift card drawings, and we are now ready to throw all of the returned slips in a bag for every grade tomorrow and draw for the scooters. Two scooters will be awarded Monday for the winners in every grade. We hope the love of reading “every day we eat” will continue through the summer. The Salt Lake Public Library is ready with lots of engaging books at every level.
Last Week Changes-No Mask Required
You’ve been receiving information from Canyons District about the health department changes that will impact the last week of school. We can’t explain it any better, but we do want you to know we will support whatever decision you make for your family in regards to wearing or not wearing a mask next week. Students, staff, and visitors will not be required to wear a mask, and we will not be handing them out at the doors of the school. If a student doesn’t show up with a mask, we will assume that was your wish. Also, volunteers will not have to show proof of vaccination or COVID testing.
We are ready to end the year strong. It has been a year of many wonderful and exciting changes for Midvalley—a beautiful new building, excellent teaching and social emotional support and a safe learning environment. Thank you for being our partners in this journey. We hope to see you at the Open House, but if not, we hope you have a wonderful summer vacation!
Warmest regards,
Tamra Baker, Principal and the Midvalley Staff
