All Midvalley students will now receive free breakfast and lunch every day — no questions asked.
There’s no need to apply for the program. All students are automatically enrolled in the schoolwide benefit, which is being funded for the next five years through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program.
The news couldn’t have come at a better time, said Principal Tamra Baker. “It’s been a tough year for many families, personally and financially. This will hopefully lighten the load a bit and bring peace of mind to some of our parents while allowing students to focus on learning.”
The CEP program also eases the paperwork burden on schools and streamlines lunchroom operations, because there is no longer any need to collect account numbers, leaving more time for students to enjoy their meals.
The program is only for enrolled students. All adults, including visitors and employees, must pay the full cost of their meals.
