- SCC shared their concerns and positive feedback
- Lexia and Dreambox
- Midvalley would like to be more strategic in communicating with our families about how to utilize Lexia (K-3 and newcomers) and Dreambox (K-5) at home. They are great at home learning resources. Teachers will share QR codes and csd logins at conferences. We will also do a better push during at back to school night, meet and greet, and family nights.
- Review school data that may have come in at end-of-year or over summer, previous year’s plans and current year’s plan
- Margaret reviewed winter acadience data –

- Update of USBE pathway goals – we will adjust our wording to match it
- The USBE is currently working to change the K-3 pathways of progress state goal from 60% to 65% of students making typical or better progress as determined by Acadience reading composite measure. When evaluating your current Acadience data, you may want to evaluate if you are close to, or surpassing this goal.

- Margaret shared that reports were complete and turned in.
- Community Stakeholder Survey – Acadience Reports
Hello,
I was able to chat with Hal today and currently we have only uploaded the Spring Acadience benchmarking results into the student digital file for parents to access through Skyward’s Family Access. Hal will begin working with Eric T and Cindy P so moving forward all three benchmarking parent reports can be uploaded and accessed in Skyward’s Family Access. With the new ALO system, we are not sure how long this will take to get it up and working but they will begin now and see what is needed. There can also be a Parent Square message scheduled to send out to parents after each benchmarking period informing them that the results are now available.Thank you for the question. This is something that was needed and I am happy it will happen in the future. I am sorry it is not available currently.
Have a great day,
Kenna
- Safe Walking Routes
- Ms. Swanicke,
- I am the Sandy City Council Member for District 2. I’m also an East Sandy 3rd grade teacher- small world. Last year, I had a constituent reach out and alert me to an SRTS concern. The Sandy City route identified for her children attending Midvalley Elementary had a portion that did not have a sidewalk on either side of Bryce Drive. During our Carryover process in October, I secured funding to install a sidewalk on one side of the road that would create a safer path for your students. Our Public Works director has reached out to me and asked for my help in contacting residents that will be impacted by crews installing a sidewalk. I am scheduled to walk the area next week with our city engineer. As we go through this process, I expect it will bring some contention. Although the city does own a public right of way on residential property for utilities and other types of access, homeowners aren’t always as understanding. I was aware of this potential issue when I requesting funding be diverted to this project. When the time gets closer to signing permits and issuing notices, I am hoping that you and your SCC would be able to offer support of this project. Would you be able to meet sometime in the next couple of weeks to discuss how this will impact your students?
Thank you,- Alison Stroud
