- Organize school council
- Elect chair and vice chair – Zack made a motion for Daniel to be chair – Mike seconded the motion; Mike made a motion for Shaylee to be vice chair and Zack seconded the motion.
- Review rules of order and procedure and post on website – Margaret showed where these are on our website.
- Set meeting schedule for the year and post on website – SCC plans to meet at 3:45 pm on Wednesdays. Margaret will send out a schedule to the SCC to determine best times. We will do our best to avoid times that conflict with East Midvale.
- Post roster on website with, at least, one form of contact for each member – Margaret showed where these are on our website.
- Review requirements for SCC open meeting requirements – SCC talked through this expectation. This will also be reviewed at the district training.
- Review bylaws or write bylaws if you don’t currently have; post current copy on website – Margaret showed where these are on our website.
 
- Review school data that may have come in at end-of-year or over summer, previous year’s plans and current year’s plans – Margaret will share Acadience data at our next SCC. Discussion about KEEP testing – Midvalley Kinder teachers got the data they needed from Acadience which was on Aug. 26th.
- Enrollment – Margaret went through Midvalley FTE report with SCC. Our student enrollment matches the teachers we have hired.
- Before School Procedures – Margaret reviewed before school procedures.
- Kindergarten Start of the Year – Margaret shared that Kindergarten teachers really liked the new schedule especially being able to meet with their new parents/guardians. SCC has two Kinder dads who also shared they had a positive experience with the Kindergarten half days.
- Elementary Schedule – Midvalley teachers appreciate the additional planning time. Teachers are feeling prepared.
- Safe Walking Routes – Ms. Millerberg suggested that we invite Alison Stroud to our next meeting when we discuss our Safe Walking Route–Margaret will invite her.
- Midvalley Newcomers – Margaret and Wendy Heath shared how newcomers are welcomed at Midvalley. Paula Logan has created a template for schools to follow so that all staff have defined roles in supporting our families as they transition to Midvalley.
- Permit Discussion – How many permits do we have at Midvalley?

- August safety drill report and budgets
- August Drill – Fire and Lockdown went well. We are using the new Crisis Go app. It is really slick and is working well.
- Cell Tower – Margaret made a motion that we move our Cell Tower funds ($2,636.77) to principal discretionary so that she can spend money on teachers (food, Midvalley gear, gifts for babies, etc) – Zack seconded the motion.
- Land Trust – allocated $100,005.25
- TSSP – allocated $137, 769.12
